Some of the world’s biggest golfing stars have assembled at Finca Cortesín ahead of Thursday’s Volvo World Match Play Championship – and they looked delighted to be here judging by yesterday’s official photo.

With six major winners, defending champion Ian Poulter, and former world number one Martin Kaymer in the field, there was certainly a lot of talent on show as the players posed at the front of the splendid Finca Cortesín Hotel.

The battle for Poulter’s coveted crown will get underway tomorrow with the first of the group matches, with the Pro-Am taking place today.
